FAQ

I ALREADY HAVE AN INVERTER. CAN I GO SOLAR AND REDUCE MY ELECTRIC BILLS?

If you already have an inverter and batteries, just add solar panels and the FIRESTAR MPPT to convert your inverter into a solar inverter. Our MPPT not only charges batteries using solar power but also runs your electric load using solar once the batteries have been fully charged.

I HAVE A GRID INVERTER AND WOULD LIKE BATTERY BACKUP. IS THIS POSSIBLE?

Grid Tied Inverters cannot store power to batteries. So you may have sophisticated solar equipment but it is useless when you have a power outage. Use the FIRESTAR MPPT to store power generated from your solar panels to as little as two 12V batteries. Our MPPT steps down high input voltages required for grid tied inverters to as little as 24 volts for easy off grid storage.

I RUN MY SOLAR PUMP SYSTEM FOR A FEW HOURS A DAY. THE REST OF THE TIME I AM UNABLE TO USE THE POWER GENERATED BY THE SOLAR PANELS. CAN I USE THIS POWER FOR MY HOME?

Yes.Pumps are run for just a few hours a day while solar power is available for almost 10 hours. Power generated from these panels is not used when the pumps are not running. The FIRESTAR MPPT can lower the high input voltage and store it in as little as 2 batteries thereby maximizing the benefit of your existing solar panels.
